INSECTONOMY

Species Data Explorer

In the Species Data Explorer tab, you can access detailed information on 120 insect species across the key variables we've previously outlined: Productive Potential, Ecosystem Potential, Use, and Challenges. You can explore species one by one or create custom groupings based on characteristics you choose. By selecting a species or group of species, you'll see their general traits along with their potential in each of these categories.

This tool makes it easy to visualize and compare the potential of insect species. You can:

  • Access the full database under the "Fetch all" tab.
  • Filter by various categories such as taxonomy, geography, climate, or habitat to find insects matching your specific criteria.
  • Once you've selected a species of interest, the database provides general information and details on Use, Challenges, Productive Potential, and Ecosystem Potential.

For even more in-depth information, simply double-click on a specific species in the database. This will take you to a page with:

  • A direct link to the species' Wikipedia page.
  • A graph showcasing detailed characteristics related to the studied variables.
  • Insights into the species' potential uses and applications.
